Hi all! My name is Sam Land, and I’m a Junior in Chemical Engineering and minoring in statistics and chemistry. I joined Stempower my sophomore year because I am passionate about encouraging other women to see themselves in stem. In my time in stempower, I have been a stempower mentor, led the curriculum committee, served as Vice President, and been the program creator and lead of the Ameliators. Some of my favorite portions of Stempower are both running the curriculum committee and acting as a committee member brainstorming fun activities for our mentees, and I have learned the most about myself and entrepreneurship by creating and leading the Ameliators Program, a virtual engineering community service program for high school girls who otherwise lost stem opportunities due to Covid. 

In my free time, I’m a bit of a thrill seeker: I’m scuba certified, I’ve gone skydiving, and hangliding is the next item I want to cross off my bucket list. I also love baking, attending broadway shows, biking, weightlifting, and yoga.
